Time to relax

The LACESwish list is on summer break.  
Thanks to our wonderful parents who stepped up and helped make the LACESwish list an unqualified success.   Our teachers, staff and parent group put up requests and you took care of them!  Thank you.


For new parents checking in during the summer.    When you are in Staples, Office Depot,  pick up some reams of paper.  Both white and color.   You will bring them to school in Fall and we will need them!

In the meantime---everyone have a relaxing summer.

Here we are --on the other side of Spring Break!!!

Spring Break is complete.  Three -fourths of the school year are complete.  A lot of hurdles are complete.   Now we are on the final road of 2013-2014.   Can you smell summer break?  It is only 8 weeks away.

So what do we need to accomplish?

A few days before break, Elizabeth in the front office informed us that she had to buy a bunch of paper because our donations had run out.   And now the purchased paper is getting low.

There is going to be a monster push on paper in these final 8 weeks.  Lots of quizzes, lots of class tests will be photocopied.  

So, facts are in winter a lot of you helped and in particular one family bought twelve cases of paper.   They really took us over a big ol' hump in the winter.   Thank you.  But now we really need a new push.    Are you good to send one case or two?   If you can't do a case, can you buy a ream or two of paper?

STAPLES OR OFFICE DEPOT  are perfect places to get the paper or go to their website and have them ship it to school so that you don't have to sweat.   (In some cases it is Free shipping).

We are wildly, desperately, completely in need of Kleenex & Hand Sanitizers.    That week of 90 degree days in early April activated the allergies--the sinuses went cra cra.    Please pick up a box or two of tissues and a bottle or two of hand sanitizers.  

to help us all beat it back.

Used Computer for Mr. Horton

First off--please don't get stuck by this photo.   It does not have to be an HP pavilion.

Mr. Horton, history teacher, is in need of a gently used computer.
He needs this second computer to use with the promethean board.  Right now if he uses the board it ties up his main computer while he tries to show something on the screen.
Can you  help?
What do you have lying around?    Especially you dads who are addicted to Frys--can you bring Mr. Horton that computer you replaced six months ago or the one you replaced six months before that one?

Microwave for Teachers

The teachers' microwave died a sad death last week.   Do you have a gently used microwave you can donate to the staff?

Would you be willing to purchase one? 

Most of the staff and faculty bring their lunch and a working microwave is essential to heat their meal in their very limited time they have for their lunch. 

This will be a very well received gift to our hardworking faculty.

Yearning for an Urn

The coffee urn in the parent center is morte.  

Do you have a coffee urn that you don't use?  

How about a member of your family, do they have one they aren't using?  

Or could you pick one up?  

There are a lot of choices on Amazon and of course if you swing by CostCo, Target, etc, you can find one there. 

Your urn will be put to mighty good work here at LACES.    It will be front and center for the Coffee Stop and Drops.  Please help.

Paper Paper Paper

You guys did a stellar job back in December and early January bringing in a whole bunch of white paper.  It was great.

And now….We are now out of paper.  

Can you help?

There are a variety of ways you can help:

1. The next time you are at the market like Ralphs, Vons or CVS (etc) you can go to the office section and you will see reams of paper.  Pick up a couple and send them to the front office with your child.

2. You can make a special trip to Staples or Office Depot and pick up a ream or a case and drop it off at school.  

3. You can go online and order and have it shipped to school (in some cases FREE shipping)  Ship to:

4. Elizabeth in the front office has been ordering paper from a new company and they will give 10 percent back to the school.   You can call them and order paper and they will deliver.

GALA FLYERS IN FOLLOWING POST 

SPRING GALA

The Gala is one of the main fundraisers for LACES, we need to double down our efforts this year because we are at a new venue with new costs.    We CAN do it.

But we need your help---

Have you asked your favorite restaurant to donate?    How about your favorite spa?  Or nail place?    Or do you already have a gift card to something fantastic that you will donate?      If you need the letter with our Tax ID number go to the post below. 

And what about your White Elephant items?  What gift did you get during the holidays that is just not ‘you’…but might be someone else?   Even if you opened the box, that is okay….donate it to the White Elephant Boutique.    By the way, if you don’t know the expression “White Elephant”  --Go HERE.

Have you bought your ticket to the event?   Have you bought a table for you and your friends?    It is $60 a person unless you buy a table and then it is $55 a person.

If you can’t go to the event, you can still buy a ticket and donate it back to the fund.   

Also you can pay for a teacher to attend the event. 

You have two weeks to get your items in (March 21) however if you are really stuck and need to get it in by March 28…please let Katherine know.
