Microwave for Teachers

The teachers' microwave died a sad death last week.   Do you have a gently used microwave you can donate to the staff?

Would you be willing to purchase one? 

Most of the staff and faculty bring their lunch and a working microwave is essential to heat their meal in their very limited time they have for their lunch. 

This will be a very well received gift to our hardworking faculty.

Yearning for an Urn

The coffee urn in the parent center is morte.  

Do you have a coffee urn that you don't use?  

How about a member of your family, do they have one they aren't using?  

Or could you pick one up?  

There are a lot of choices on Amazon and of course if you swing by CostCo, Target, etc, you can find one there. 

Your urn will be put to mighty good work here at LACES.    It will be front and center for the Coffee Stop and Drops.  Please help.

Paper Paper Paper

You guys did a stellar job back in December and early January bringing in a whole bunch of white paper.  It was great.

And now….We are now out of paper.  

Can you help?

There are a variety of ways you can help:

1. The next time you are at the market like Ralphs, Vons or CVS (etc) you can go to the office section and you will see reams of paper.  Pick up a couple and send them to the front office with your child.

2. You can make a special trip to Staples or Office Depot and pick up a ream or a case and drop it off at school.  

3. You can go online and order and have it shipped to school (in some cases FREE shipping)  Ship to:

4. Elizabeth in the front office has been ordering paper from a new company and they will give 10 percent back to the school.   You can call them and order paper and they will deliver.

SPRING GALA

The Gala is one of the main fundraisers for LACES, we need to double down our efforts this year because we are at a new venue with new costs.    We CAN do it.

But we need your help---

Have you asked your favorite restaurant to donate?    How about your favorite spa?  Or nail place?    Or do you already have a gift card to something fantastic that you will donate?      If you need the letter with our Tax ID number go to the post below. 

And what about your White Elephant items?  What gift did you get during the holidays that is just not ‘you’…but might be someone else?   Even if you opened the box, that is okay….donate it to the White Elephant Boutique.    By the way, if you don’t know the expression “White Elephant”  --Go HERE.

Have you bought your ticket to the event?   Have you bought a table for you and your friends?    It is $60 a person unless you buy a table and then it is $55 a person.

If you can’t go to the event, you can still buy a ticket and donate it back to the fund.   

Also you can pay for a teacher to attend the event. 

You have two weeks to get your items in (March 21) however if you are really stuck and need to get it in by March 28…please let Katherine know.

How To Make the Wish List Doubly Effective

Hi, Parents and welcome to March.

We are three months into 2014 and you deserve a big thank you.

The LACES Wish List has been a great success because of you....
..thank you to everyone who has dropped off Kleenex, ordered paper, shipped boxes of envelopes, bought extra rounds of antibacterial gel and opened your wallets and donated cash to our various wishes.  

You all are doing real help which the staff, faculty and parent center are grateful.

We have more items listed below that need your help.  It would be great if you could step up with jars  for Ms Phillips or donated to Mr. Solomon and Ms Drake's Donors Choose wishes.

But besides your help---will you please consider asking your neighbor to help out?
How about your family?   How about the gal at work?
The bottom line is that there are people in your child's world who want to help your child's school.
They love your kid, they love you and they really want to help your world.  Even if it is not exactly your child's class.

Now would be a great time to reach out into your world and send them a link to any of the wishes. And when they say "yes" you will feel great and when you share the story with your child you will be reminding them the value of giving and community and how asking for help can do a world of good.

Ms Phillips and YOUR jars!

Ms Phillips, LACES culinary teacher, is in need of clean empty jars for a project she has scheduled this spring.   You can help.

Take your half empty jars sitting in your refrigerator right now behind the milk.  Take those jars and empty them out, then put them in your dishwasher (with the cap) and run them through a cycle.  Or if you don't have a diswasher, hand wash will work.
Put those clean jars in a bag, marked "Ms Phillips" and either you or your child takes it to the front office.  

Ms Phillips will thank you.
Her students will thank you.
And your refrigerator will thank you.
